The Snapper Classic attracts competitors from all over New Zealand, Australia and the World. It is a single species (Snapper) Surfcasting Tournament held over 5 days along the Mighty Ninety Mile Beach in Northland New Zealand.
The Prize list for the next Tournament (Dates T.B.A.) will be $250,000.00 and with over $83,000.00 of this being cash prizes. Weigh-In area and Registration Headquarters are at West Coast Road, Ninety Mile Beach, Waipapakauri, Northland, New Zealand. Waipapakauri is approximately 15 minutes drive north of Kaitaia.
HEAVIEST SNAPPER SECTION FEE: $260.00 (GST Inclusive)
All team members must purchase a ticket into the Heaviest Snapper Section (above) to be eligible to purchase a Team Ticket.
Team ticket $105.00 per team (GST inc) for up to 4 members.
Maximum number of members in a team is 4.
Prizes in this section are paid out to the team with the heaviest weight of up to 4 snapper caught on a daily basis as per the team’s event rules.

A briefing for ALL contestants will be held on the Monday (prior to Tuesday - the commencement date) at the Head Quarters (H.Q.) Weigh-In and will commence at 6.00pm. It is recommended that all contestants attend as the Officials and Patrol Marshalls will clarify the rules and the first of the lucky draw prizes will be drawn.
IMPORTANT - REGISTRATION AND INFORMATION DESK
The Snapper Classic Registration and Information desk will be located at West Coast Road, Ninety Mile Beach, Waipapakauri, Kaitaia Northland, New Zealand. All Registration information, including Photo ID Ticket, Starter Bag, Official Tournament Guide and entry into the Major Spot and Mid Week Prizes can be processed and collected from the on-site Registration and Information Desk.
Registrations processed after 5pm on Monday will not qualify for the vehicle entry draw for that evening, which commences at 6pm. Please register early to ensure entry for the Monday evening vehicle draw.

Contestants will be issued with an Official Photo ID Ticket bearing a registration number. Contestants must be in possession of their ticket at all times during the contest and some other form of identification (e.g. Drivers Licence) beyond the ticket if so required by an authorised agent of the contest. All contestants must abide by the official rules of the tournament. rules will be available in your starter bag which you will receive with your Official Photo ID Ticket at registration.
